What is Fax Everywhere

Q: What is Fax Everywhere?

A: Fax Everywhere is a suite of programs and a service. The Fax Everywhere service allows any number of users to receive a personal fax number. Users can receive faxes on their personal fax number and Fax Everywhere will send the faxes to their e-mail address(es). Fax Everywhere users can use the Fax Everywhere Web Interface to view and send their faxes via the Internet. Fax Everywhere users can also use Fax Everywhere Fax Client to send faxes from any Windows program that is capable of printing.

How can I obtain Fax Everywhere Fax Client

Q: How can I obtain Fax Everywhere Fax Client?

A: You can download Fax Everywhere Fax Client from the Fax Everywhere Web Interface. Before you can access the Fax Everywhere Web Interface, you need a Fax Everywhere account. To purchase a Fax Everywhere account, see: Product Order Forms.

Your Fax Everywhere account will include a personal fax number, access to your faxes via the Internet, access to the Fax Everywhere Fax Client program. You can use the Fax Everywhere Fax Client program to send faxes from any Windows program to an e-mail address or fax number.

How do I Exit Fax Everywhere Fax Client

Q: When I click the X in the upper right corner on any of the tabs in Fax Everywhere Fax Client, it continues to run in the Windows System Tray. How do I exit Fax Everywhere Fax Client?

A: Right-click on the Fax Everywhere Fax Client icon in the Windows System Tray. Click Exit. After you click Exit, Fax Everywhere Fax Client displays this confirmation message:

Are you sure you want to exit Fax Everywhere's client program for the remainder of this Windows session? You will not be able to send faxes through the Fax Everywhere server and all automated downloaded and printing of incoming faxes will stop if you click Yes.

If you do not want Fax Everywhere Fax Client to start each time your restart Windows, you can remove the Fax Everywhere program shortcut from the Windows Startup folder.

Q: How do I start Fax Everywhere Fax Client?

A: You can start Fax Everywhere Fax Client in one of two ways:

1. Click Start | Programs | Fax Everywhere | Fax Everywhere.
2. You can also restart Windows. If you restart Windows, Fax Everywhere Fax Client automatically starts from the Windows Startup group.

A: You can use the Fax Everywhere Web Interface to send faxes, receive faxes, and manage your Fax Everywhere account. You can use your web browser to access the Fax Everywhere Web Interface from:

Sending Faxes to Multiple Addresses

Q: How can I set up Fax Everywhere to send my faxes to more than one e-mail address?

A: You can add additional address from the Fax Everywhere Web Interface. Log into the Fax Everywhere Web Interface. Click User Setup. From the User Setup window, you can add up to ten e-mail addresses in the Inbound Fax Addressing group.

When you receive a fax, Fax Everywhere will e-mail the fax to each e-mail address you entered in the Inbound Fax Addressing group.

Windows Address Book

Q: Can I use my Windows Address Book in Fax Everywhere?

A: As of, Monday, April 29, 2002, Fax Everywhere Fax Client does not support Windows Address Book or Outlook Express.

Automatically Download and Print Faxes

Q: How do I set up Fax Everywhere to automatically download then print my faxes?

A: Click on the Setup tab in the Fax Everywhere Fax Client. From the Inbound Fax Functions group, click the Auto Download Faxes drop-down list. From this drop-down list, select the download frequency. You also need to select a printer from the Auto Print Downloaded Letter Size Faxes to and the Auto Print Downloaded Legal Size Faxes to drop-down list.

Q: How do I change the directory Fax Everywhere Fax Client downloads my faxes to?

A: From the Fax Everywhere Fax Client, click on the Setup tab. You can select another directory from the Download PDF Files to Directory drop-down list in the Inbound Fax Functions group.

E-mail Address and Account Name

Q: How do I set up Fax Everywhere Fax Client when my e-mail address and account name are different?

A: From the Fax Everywhere Fax Client, click on the Setup tab. In the My E-mail Address field, enter your e-mail address, for example: emailaddressname@domain.com. If the name you use to access your POP3 and SMTP servers is something other than your e-mail address name, you can enter that name in the My Mail User Name field. For example, your e-mail address may be: emailaddressname@domain.com, and the name you use to access your POP3 and SMTP mail servers may be: myname. You can enter your e-mail address in the My E-mail Address and the name you use to access your mail servers in the My Mail User Name field.

Fax Everywhere Fax Client Printing

Fax Everywhere Fax Client Prints the Same Fax

Q: I set up Fax Everywhere Fax Client to automatically download then print my faxes. Why does Fax Everywhere Fax Client continue to automatically print the same faxes?

A: If you set up Fax Everywhere Fax Client to automatically download then print your faxes, Fax Everywhere Fax Client downloads your faxes, (as .PDF files) to the directory in the Download PDF Files to Directory field. After Fax Everywhere Fax Client downloads your faxes, it prints the .PDF files from this directory. If you manually delete the .PDF files from this directory, Fax Everywhere will continue to download and print the same .PDF files.

After Fax Everywhere checks your e-mail address for faxes, it checks the directory in the Download PDF Files to Directory field. If it finds a fax in your e-mail address that is not in the directory in the Download PDF Files to Directory field, it downloads the fax. If Fax Everywhere finds a fax in your e-mail address and in the directory in the Download PDF Files to Directory field, it will not download the fax.

You can correct this problem by checking the Delete After Download check box. When you check this box, Fax Everywhere will delete the fax from your e-mail server after it downloads the .PDF file.

Fax Everywhere Fax Client Does not Autoprint Faxes

Q: I set up Fax Everywhere Fax Client to automatically download then print my faxes. Fax Everywhere Fax Client is not automatically downloading and printing my faxes.

Recover Deleted Faxes

Q: I deleted a fax that I received via Fax Everywhere. Can I recover the fax?

A: If you are archiving your faxes, you can view faxes you deleted in:

• the ARCHIVE directory in the Fax Everywhere executable directory.
• the Fax History tab in the Fax Everywhere Control Panel.
• the Fax Archive window in the Fax Everywhere Web Interface.
