What is My Password?

PC Access uses several types of passwords.

The PC Access Password prevents unauthorized persons from accessing your Agent Setup information and logging into your MLS account with your MLS Login Name and MLS Password.
The Administrator Password prevents unauthorized people from accessing the PC Access Setup information.
The MLS Password and MLS Login Name allows the Login Script file in PC Access to log in to your MLS account automatically.

The PC Access Password prevents unauthorized persons from accessing your Agent Setup information and logging into your MLS account with your MLS Login Name and MLS Password. If you are running an Agent Version of PC Access on a computer that is reasonably physically secure (such as a computer in a home office) there is probably no reason to assign a PC Access Password. You can assign a PC Access Password in the PC Access Password field on the Add/Edit Agent window.

Some people refer to the PC Access Password as an Agent Password because PC Access lets you assign it on the Add/Edit Agent window.

How do you know if you have a PC Access Password?

Your entry on the Agent List has an asterisk next to it.
PC Access prompts you to enter a password when you click the Select or Edit buttons on the Agent List.

PC Access does not require you to enter an PC Access Password to access the Setup Menu. This allows the System Administrator to see an agent's PC Access Password should the agent forget it. To prevent agents from seeing each other's PC Access Passwords, the System Administrator should assign an Administrator Password.

The Administrator Password prevents unauthorized users from changing the PC Access Setup information and prevents agents from seeing each other's PC Access Passwords. The System Administrator can assign a Administrator Password on the Defaults Setup window.

How do you know if you are using an Administrator Password?

If you click on Setup and the Administrator Password window appears, you have an Administrator Password.

The MLS Password and MLS Login Name allow you to log in to your MLS account. Your MLS provides you with this information.

How do you know if you are using a MLS Password?

When you connect to your MLS system and your MLS Login Name and MLS Password appear in the Terminal window.

If you are unable to log in to your MLS, you need to:

Contact your MLS and verify your MLS Login Name and MLS Password.
Verify your MLS Login Name and MLS Password in PC Access. Follow the instructions below to verify your MLS Login Name and MLS Password:
- Agent Version Users: From the PC Access Main Menu window, click Setup | Advanced | Agents.
- Broker Version Users: From the PC Access Main Menu window, click Select Agent | Edit.
