Fax Everywhere Reference Guide

for Version 1.00

Fax Everywhere Control Panel: Toll Control Tab

The Toll Control tab appears on the Tables Setup tab on the Fax Everywhere Control Panel. This tab contains the Toll Control table. You can use the fields on this table to allow or deny access to a certain series of digits in a fax number. You can also set up a charge for each series of digits.

The fields on the Toll Control tab only apply to faxes that Fax Everywhere users send. For information on sending a fax, see Fax Everywhere Fax Client.

When a you send a fax, Fax Everywhere scans the Digits field (in the order the entries appear) for a match. Fax Everywhere determines the numbers match when the number(s) in the Digits field match the fax number you entered in the E-mail Address / Fax Phone # field in Fax Everywhere Fax Client. For example, if the Digits field contains 900 and the fax number you entered in the E-mail Address / Fax Phone # field begins with the number 900, Fax Everywhere will determine that these numbers match. When Fax Everywhere finds a match, it checks the Allow / Deny field to determine if it can fax to the number you entered. If Fax Everywhere does not find a matching entry, it does not send your fax.

The entries in the Toll Control tab may be beneficial to you in several ways:

  1. Using the Toll Control tab, the Fax Everywhere Administrator can control which series of digits in a fax number Fax Everywhere can dial.

  2. Since local, long distance and international calls all have a different base cost, you can use the Toll Control tab to charge different rates for these various types of calls.

  3. the Toll Control tab allows the Fax Everywhere Administrator to handle dialing pattern variations and PBX equipment issues. This is useful if Fax Everywhere connects to a PBX or Centrex system.

To add an entry to the Toll Control table, click the Add button on the toolbar.

To edit an existing entry, click on the field in the row of the entry you want to edit. When you edit an existing entry, the title on the toolbar changes from Browse/Edit to Edit. Any changes you make to an existing entry will not go into effect until you return to Browse/Edit mode. To return to Browse/Edit mode, click the Save button on the toolbar.

You can resize the Toll Control tab.
