Fax Everywhere Reference Guide

for Version 1.00

Fax History Tab: Charge

The Charge column appears on the Fax History tab on the Fax Everywhere Control Panel.

This column lists the total cost Fax Everywhere assessed to a fax.

If you sent a fax, Fax Everywhere used this method to calculate the amount that appears in the Charge field:

  1. Fax Everywhere checks the fax number you entered against the entries in the Toll Control table. If Fax Everywhere allows you call the fax number you entered, it looks up your group on the Groups table. If Fax Everywhere does not allow you to call the fax number you entered, it does not place the call.

  2. From the Groups table, Fax Everywhere looks up the name in the Rate Name drop-down list.

  3. Fax Everywhere locates the name in Rate Name drop-down list on the Rates table. Next, it locates the value in the Out. Rate Factor field for the rate name.

  4. Fax Everywhere multiplies the value of the Per Minute Base Rate on the Toll Control table with the value in the Out. Rate Factor field on the Rates table. This determines the per minute charge.

  5. Fax Everywhere multiplies the per minute charge by the number of minutes it takes to send the fax. Fax Everywhere rounds the minutes up to the next full minute. If the receiver's fax number is busy or does not answer, Fax Everywhere will not calculate any charges.

In addition to displaying the cost of the fax in the Charge column, Fax Everywhere also displays the cost of the fax in the delivery receipt it e-mails to you.

Note: if you sent a fax via Fax Everywhere, the amount in the Charge field represents the total cost of sending a single fax to all of the recipients.

If you receive a fax, Fax Everywhere used this method to calculate the amount that appears in the Charge field:

  1. Fax Everywhere looks up your group on the Groups table. Next, it looks up the name in the Rate Name drop-down list.

  2. Fax Everywhere checks the Rates table for the name in the Rate Name drop-down list.

  3. Fax Everywhere multiplies the value in the Per Minute Inbound field with the number of minutes it takes to receive a fax. Fax Everywhere rounds the minutes up to the next full minute.

Fax Everywhere includes the cost of receiving a fax in the e-mail message it sends you. For example, you may see this text: Total Charge: 1.00.
