Fax Modem Devices Tab: Fax Modem Class

The Fax Modem Class group appears on the Server Setup | Fax Modem Devices tab in the Fax Everywhere Control Panel.

The following radio buttons appear in the Fax Modem Class group:

• Auto: if you select the Auto radio button, Fax Everywhere determines if the fax modem you selected from the Devices pane is capable of handling most of the fax processing. If the fax modem is not capable of handling the fax processing, the server you installed Fax Everywhere to will handle the fax processing. If the fax modem you selected on the Devices pane supports auto detection, we recommend you check the Auto radio button.
  
  
• Class 1: if you select the Class 1 radio button, the server you installed Fax Everywhere to will handle the fax processing. Class 1 places more demand on the server's processing power. Class 1 fax modems rely on the server's processing and management of the Group 3 communication protocol.
  
  
• Class 2: if you select the Class 2 or Class 2.0 radio button, the fax modem you selected on the Devices pane handles all of the fax processing. If you select the Class 2 or Class 2.0 radio button and you receive transmission errors, you may want to select the Class 1 radio button.
  
  
• Class 2.0: if you select the Class 2 or Class 2.0 radio button, the fax modem you selected on the Devices pane handles all of the fax processing. If you select the Class 2 or Class 2.0 radio button and you receive transmission errors, you may want to select the Class 1 radio button.

You need to select one of the radio buttons in the Fax Modem Class group for each fax modem you select on the Devices pane.

By default, Fax Everywhere selects the Auto radio button.
