Server Settings Tab: Archive Faxes

The Archive Faxes spin control appears on the Server Setup | Server Settings tab in the Fax Everywhere Control Panel.

The number in this field tells Fax Everywhere the length of time (in months) to store faxes in the ARCHIVE directory and on the Fax History tab. The default value is 3 months.

Note: if you select 3 months in this field and you receive a fax on April 10, Fax Everywhere will delete the fax on August 1. Fax Everywhere deletes faxes on the first of the month. To view the actual date Fax Everywhere will delete a certain fax, see the Expires field on the Fax Archive window in the Fax Everywhere Web Interface.

Fax Everywhere will store faxes in the ARCHIVE directory for users with a check in the Archive check box on the User Setup tab. Fax Everywhere stores all faxes on the Fax History tab, even if a user does not have a check in the Archive check box.

When Fax Everywhere purges faxes in the ARCHIVE directory, it displays this message: XI-4029 Purging archived faxes more than 3 months old in the Message pane on the Server Status tab.

Note: if a user checks the Keep check box on the Fax Archive window in the Fax Everywhere Web Interface, Fax Everywhere will not delete the fax.

If you change the value of this field, you need to Stop and Start the Fax Everywhere Control Panel before your changes will go into effect.
