Fax Everywhere Control Panel and Service Panel Reference Guide

for Version 1.00

Server Status Tab: Receive Failures

The Receive Failures field appears on the Server Status tab in the Fax Everywhere Control Panel.

The Receive Failures field lists the number of faxes Fax Everywhere attempted to receive but could not. Fax Everywhere may be unable to receive a fax if the phone line contains too much static, or if the sender's fax machine did not finish sending the fax.

In addition, sometimes certain fax machines do not fully adhere to the Group 3 fax protocol. These fax machines hang up at the end of the last page they send, without going through the acknowledgment process. Fax Everywhere records this as a receive failure, even though it received the entire fax. When Fax Everywhere e-mails a fax to a user that it flagged as a receive failure, it will include the text in the PARTIAL.MSG file. The text in the PARTIAL.MSG file warns the user that the fax they received may be incomplete.

If Fax Everywhere is unable to receive a fax, you can check the Message pane for any error messages.

The Today column lists the number of receive failures within a 24 hour period. Fax Everywhere resets the number in the Today column every day at midnight.

The Total column list the number receive failures Fax Everywhere encountered since you started Fax Everywhere.

If you Stop and Start Fax Everywhere, it resets the values in the Today and Total columns.
