Fax Everywhere Control Panel and Service Panel Reference Guide

for Version 1.00

Toll Control Tab: Digits

The Digits column appears on the Toll Control table on the Tables Setup | Toll Control tab in the Fax Everywhere Control Panel.

The digits you enter in this field determine what fax numbers Fax Everywhere users can send faxes to. If you enter numbers 0 through 9 in this field, Fax Everywhere will match those numbers exactly. If you enter X in this field, Fax Everywhere will match any number.

Here is how it works, if you want to add any entry for local numbers, you would enter XXXXXXX in this field. This tells Fax Everywhere to match any seven digit number. If you want to add an entry for long distance numbers, you would enter 1XXXXXXXXXX. Fax Everywhere will match any number that starts with 1 and has ten digits. You can also enter specific prefixes followed by X. For example, you may have this entry: 1513976XXXX. This tells Fax Everywhere to match 1513976 followed by any combination of four digit numbers. Fax Everywhere will also match partial numbers. For example, if 1900 appears in the Digits field, Fax Everywhere will use that entry to match any number that begins with 1900. To determine a match, Fax Everywhere scans the Digits field, from left to right, and compares the value in the Digits field with the fax number in the E-mail Address / Fax Phone # field on the Addressing tab in Fax Everywhere Fax Client. Fax Everywhere determines the numbers match when the fax number in the E-mail Address / Fax Phone # field matches every digit (sequentially) in the Digits field

You can use the Allow /Deny field to deny access to the values you enter in the Digits field. For information on how to allow and deny access to certain numbers, see: Allow / Deny.

If a user enters a fax number that does not match an entry in the Digits field, Fax Everywhere will not send the fax.

You can click the column heading to toggle the sort order between ascending or descending.

Fax Everywhere requires you to enter at least one digit in this field.
