Broadcast E-mail Messages Overview

From time to time the Fax Everywhere Administrator may need to communicate certain things to all Fax Everywhere users. For example, the Fax Everywhere Administrator may need to let users know about a system problem, new feature, or other issues that affect all Fax Everywhere users.

The Fax Everywhere Administrator can reach all Fax Everywhere users by sending a broadcast e-mail message.

Here is how it works:

  1. You address an e-mail message to Fax Everywhere. The Fax Everywhere e-mail address appears in the Fax Everywhere E-mail Address field on the Server Settings tab in the Fax Everywhere Control Panel.

  2. The Subject line of the e-mail message must begin with Broadcast: followed by the actual subject of the message. For example, Broadcast: New Feature Coming Soon.

  3. In the Body of the e-mail message, type your message.

  4. Click Send to send your e-mail message.

After you click Send, Fax Everywhere will e-mail your message to all of the users on the User Setup tab in the Fax Everywhere Control Panel.

Note: only the Fax Everywhere Administrator can send broadcast e-mail messages. If you send a broadcast e-mail message and your e-mail address does not match the e-mail address in the Administrator's E-mail Address field on the Server Settings tab in the Fax Everywhere Control Panel, Fax Everywhere discard the broadcast e-mail message.

When the Fax Everywhere Administrator sends a broadcast e-mail message, Fax Everywhere includes this text in the beginning of the message:

The following is a broadcast message from the Fax Everywhere
system administrator. Do NOT reply to this message. The
administrator sends broadcast messages to you
periodically to inform you of service availability
issues, new fax features and other relevant
information regarding your Fax Everywhere account. You are
receiving this message because you have an active
Fax Everywhere account which enables you to receive incoming
faxes as e-mail messages.

Note: Fax Everywhere stores the above text in the BROADCAST.MSG file in the Fax Everywhere executable directory.
