Downloading MLS Data: Overview

To import listing data into the Flyer program, you must initiate and conduct an online session with your MLS provider by using PC Access for Windows.

If you are using PC Access for the first time, you should first set your communication parameters correctly in the MLS Setup window.

You will also need to verify that options in the following tabs of the MLS Setup (Advanced Items) window are set correctly: General, Dialing, Options, TCP/IP, and Speed Buttons.

After configuring PC Access for Windows, you may begin an online MLS session.

During the online session you will do the following:

1. Log in to your MLS provider.
   
   
2. Select residential listings using search criteria.
   
   
3. Download listings in brochure or flyer format (depending on the MLS provider).
   
   
4. End the online session.

After you download the file from your MLS provider, PC Access prompts you to begin the Flyer program.

When you launch the Flyer program after downloading MLS data, the Flyer program displays the Downloads to be Imported window. Click here for more information on importing MLS data that you downloaded into the Flyer program.

There are several MLS providers; your provider depends mainly on your geographic location. For demonstration purposes, we will document a VISTAinfo Maestro session. Keep in mind that if you use VISTAinfo CompassÒ or another MLS provider, the download procedure will differ.
