Edit Menu

The following options are available from the Template DesignerEdit drop-down .

· Cut: After selecting an object (by using the select tool), choose Edit | Cut to remove the object from the flyer template and store it on the Windows clipboard. You may also hold the CTRL+X keys on your keyboard to cut an object, or click the toolbar Cut button.

· Copy: After selecting an object (by using the select tool), choose Edit | Copy to copy the object to the Windows clipboard. You may also hold the CTRL+C keys on your keyboard to copy an object, or click the toolbar Copy button .

· Paste: After cutting or copying an object to the Windows clipboard, choose Edit | Paste to paste the image from the Windows clipboard to the flyer template. You may only paste the last object you placed on the Windows clipboard. You may also hold the CTRL+V keys on your keyboard to paste an object, or click the toolbar Paste button.

· Delete: After selecting an object (using the select tool), choose Edit | Delete to remove the object from the flyer template.

· Note: This option does not store the object on the Windows clipboard.

You may also hold the CTRL+D keys on your keyboard to delete an object, or click the toolbar Delete button.

· Select All: Choose Edit | Select All to quickly select all objects in the flyer template. You may then cut, copy, or delete the items as a group. You may also hold the CTRL+A keys on your keyboard to select all objects in the flyer template.

· Bring To Front: When working in the Template Designer window, you may want to layer certain objects. For instance, you may want to place text over a graphic. Changing the order of your layered elements can create many different graphic effects. Some objects may be transparent, while others cover any elements that may be underneath them. The Bring to Front option allows you to select the order for layered objects. Select the object you would like to bring to the front of the group by using the select tool, then choose Edit | Bring to Front. The Flyer program places the object on top of all other objects. You may want to experiment with this option and the Send To Back option to see the many different effects you can achieve through layering objects.

· Send To Back: When working in the Template Designer window, you may want to place an object behind another object. For instance, you may want to place a colored rectangle behind another object. Changing the order of your layered elements can create many different graphic effects. Some objects may be transparent, while others cover any elements that may be underneath them. The Send To Back option from the Edit menu allows you to select the order for layered objects. Select the object you would like to place behind another object by using the select tool, then choose Edit | Send to Back. The Flyer program places the object behind any other objects. You may want to experiment with this option and the Bring To Front option to see the many different effects you can achieve through layering objects.

· Align: When working in the Template Designer window, you may wish to precisely align the edges of two or more objects or space objects equally on the page. You may align objects by their left, top, right, or bottom edges. You may also space objects equally on the page either horizontally or vertically. For instance, you may want the left edge of a text box to align with the left edge of a photo. Select the objects by using the select tool and choose Edit | Align | Left. The Flyer program arranges the elements so that their left margins align. You may also align objects by using the Alignment Palette. Choose View | Alignment Palette to display the alignment buttons.

· Lock Template: After placing many elements on a flyer template and aligning them precisely, you may want to lock their positions on the page. Choose Edit | Lock Template to secure the placement of objects in your template. You may also hold the CTRL+L keys on your keyboard to lock the flyer template. When a template is locked, the status bar along the bottom of the Template Designer window displays the word "Locked."
