System Templates versus User Templates

Before you design new templates, or modify existing ones, it is important to understand the differences between system templates and user templates.

· System Templates are read-only and are available to all users. You MAY NOT modify system templates. The Flyer program stores system templates in the PCAFLYER subdirectory.

· User Templates are your personal templates that are stored in your Agent subdirectory. You MAY modify user templates. The Flyer program stores user templates in your Agent subdirectory.

Whenever you open a system template, you are actually opening a "copy" of the template. The Flyer program automatically preserves the system template and saves your "copy" as a user template. Therefore, it is possible to have a system template and a user template with the same file name, but different paths. For example, if you opened the C:\PCAWIN\PCAFLYER\MOTIVATE.TMP file (a system template because it is stored in the PCAFLYER subdirectory), changed the design, and closed the file, you would have two versions of the flyer in your Template Gallery: the modified version stored in your Agent subdirectory as a user template, and the original system template stored in the PCAFLYER subdirectory.
