Database Description

The database description files tell PC Access Flyer how to:

· display the tabbed windows and listing fields in the Listings Editor

· other fields in the Flyer Wizard, Template Designer and Listings Editor

Two of the database description files are PRDBDESC.DAT and PROPFMT.ZIP.

When you first install PC Access Flyer it installs a generic set of database description files.

The first time you download listings from your MLS for use in PC Access Flyer, your MLS system will include the database description files that VISTAinfo and your MLS customized for your geographic area. The database description files you download from your MLS will replace the generic database description files that PC Access Flyer installed. The database description files you download allow PC Access Flyer to display the tabbed windows and fields that pertain your geographic area.

You should download a new set of database description files if either of the following are true:

· VISTAinfo and/or your MLS made any changes to the tabbed windows, fields, and/or listing fields on your MLS system.

· PC Access Flyer does not display the tabbed windows, fields, and/or listing fields correctly.

If VISTAinfo and/or your MLS made any changes to the tabbed windows, fields, and/or listing fields on your MLS system; or if PC Access Flyer does not display the tabbed windows, fields, and/or listing fields correctly, you can download a new set of database description files.

You can use the Reset Database window to download a new set of database description files. The Reset Database window describes three levels of reset options. You can use the information on the Reset Database window to determine the best reset option for your situation.

For example, if you only want to download a new set of database description files, you would choose a Level 1 reset.
