PC Access Flyer Reference Guide
for PC Access Flyer 2.00.025
FLYERSYS.INI
PC Access Flyer uses the FLYERSYS.INI file to store any settings that apply to all PC Access Flyer users. For example:
· If you want to set up several computers on a LAN to share a common set of PC Access Flyer agent directories, you can use the AgentDirs= setting in FLYERSYS.INI to point each copy to the same physical location anywhere on the network that accessible from every computer.
Note: before each agent can access the settings you specified in the FLYERSYS.INI file, you need a FLYERSYS.INI file in the PC Access Flyer executable directory on each computer running PC Access Flyer.
The FLYERSYS.INI file is a subset of the settings that are in the PCAFLYER.INI file. Here is how it works:
- When you run PC Access Flyer, it looks for the
FLYERSYS.INI file in the PC Access Flyer executable directory. If it finds the FLYERSYS.INI file, it looks at the settings in the file.
- Next, PC Access Flyer compares the settings in
FLYERSYS.INI and PCAFLYER.INI. If a setting only exists in FLYERSYS.INI, PC Access Flyer will use that setting. If a setting exists in the PCAFLYER.INI or in both PCAFLYER.INI and FLYERSYS.INI, PC Access Flyer uses the setting in PCAFLYER.INI. The PCAFLYER.INI file is in your agent subdirectory.
PC Access Flyer installs the FLYERSYS.INI into the PC Access Flyer executable directory. You can use a text editor, such as Windows Notepad to edit your FLYERSYS.INI file. Here is an example of the FLYERSYS.INI file:
[AssistantHelp]
Enabled=0
DelayTime=60
[SETTINGS]
NumPhotosToDownload=4
[Email]
;MailServer=
[Paths]
;AgentDirs=
If you would like to specify another directory or another drive to store your agent directory, you would edit the AgentDirs= line in the [Paths] section: By default the AgentDirs= line looks like:
;AgentDirs=
if you change it to:
AgentDirs=E:\FLYAGENT
PC Access Flyer will access the agent directories from E:\FLYAGENT.
Note: If you plan on editing the AgentDirs= line, do so before anyone has run PC Access Flyer. If you make any changes to the AgentDirs= line after someone uses PC Access Flyer, you will need to manually move their agent directory to the location you specified in AgentDirs=. For example, you would manually move their agent directory from C:\ProgramFiles\MFM\Flyer2<agentdir> to E:\FLYAGENT\<agentdir>. You would need to manually move the agent directory for any agents who ran PC Access Flyer before you edited the AgentDirs= line.
