Template Designer Window: Edit Menu

The Edit menu on the Template Designer window contains the following items:

· Copy: after you use the Select tool on the vertical toolbar to select an image or text, you can click Copy to copy the image or text from the flyer template and store it on the Windows clipboard. You may also use the Ctrl + X keys on your keyboard or click the Copy button on the horizontal toolbar.

· Cut: after you use the Select tool to select an image or text, you can click Cut to remove the image or text from the flyer template and store it on the Windows clipboard. You may also use the Ctrl + C keys on your keyboard or click the Cut button on the horizontal toolbar.

· Paste: after cutting or copying an image or text to the Windows clipboard, you can click Paste to paste the image or text from the Windows clipboard to the flyer template. You may only paste the last item you placed on the Windows clipboard. You may also use the Ctrl + V keys on your keyboard or click the Paste button on the horizontal toolbar.

· Delete: after you use the Select tool to select an image or text, you can click Delete to remove the object from the flyer template. You may also use the Ctrl + D keys on your keyboard or click the Delete button on the horizontal toolbar. The Delete menu item does not store the object on the Windows clipboard.

· Select All: choose Select All to select all text and image boxes in a flyer template. You may then cut, copy, or delete the items as a group. You may also use the Ctrl + A keys on your keyboard to select all.

· Set Section Type...: no help is available for this topic yet. A newer version of the PC Access Flyer Reference Guide may have the information you need.

· Set Page Border Width: opens the Page Border Width window. The Page Border Width window allows you to define, in increments of 1/100 of an inch, the width of the outside border of the template. The default value is 3, which creates a 3/100 of an inch border around the template. To change the border width, enter a new value in the text box and click OK. Click Cancel to discard any changes and return to the Template Designer window.

· Override Page Size: opens the Override Default Page Size window.

· Border Frame...: opens the Border Properties window.

· Set Required Fields...: no help is available for this topic yet. A newer version of the PC Access Flyer Reference Guide may have the information you need.

· Convert to Rich Text Objects...: no help is available for this topic yet. A newer version of the PC Access Flyer Reference Guide may have the information you need.

· Bring To Front: when working in the Template Designer window, you may want to layer certain objects. For instance, you may want to place text over a graphic. Changing the order of your layered elements can create many different graphic effects. Some objects may be transparent, while others cover any elements that may be underneath them. The Bring to Front menu item allows you to select the order for layered objects. Use the Select tool to select the object you would like to bring to the front of the group, then click Bring to Front. PC Access Flyer places the object you selected on top of all other objects. You may want to experiment with this menu item and the Send To Back menu item to see the many different effects you can achieve through layering objects.

· Send To Back: when working in the Template Designer window, you may want to place an object behind another object. For instance, you may want to place a colored rectangle behind another object. Changing the order of your layered elements can create many different graphic effects. Some objects may be transparent, while others cover any elements that may be underneath them. The Send To Back menu item allows you to select the order for layered objects. Use the Select tool to select the object you would like to place behind another object, then click Send to Back. PC Access Flyer places the object behind any other objects. You may want to experiment with this menu item and the Bring To Front menu item to see the many different effects you can achieve through layering objects.

· Align...: when working in the Template Designer window, you may wish to precisely align the edges of two or more text or image boxes or space the boxes equally on the page. To align two or more text or image boxes, click on one box. Next, hold down the Shift key and click on another box. After you select at least two boxes, click Align... to display the Alignment window. On the Alignment window, you can align objects by their left, top, right, or bottom edges; or space boxes equally on the page either horizontally or vertically. You can also select View | Alignment Palette to align objects in the Template Designer window.

· Lock Selected Objects(s): after you adjust the placement of a text box, image box, line, rectangle, etc., you may want to lock its position into place on your template. You can click Lock Selected Objects(s) to secure the placement of object(s) in your template. For example, if you want to lock the position of an image box on your flyer template, use the Select tool and select the image box. Next, click the Lock Selected Objects(s) menu item. PC Access Flyer will lock the placement of the image box in your flyer template. If you want to move the image box, you can select the image box and click the Unlock Selected Objects(s) menu item.

· Unlock Selected Objects(s): if you used the Lock Selected Objects(s) menu item to lock the placement of a text box, image box, line, rectangle, etc., on your flyer template, you can use the Unlock Selected Objects(s) menu item to unlock the object(s). After you unlock the objects, you can change their position in your flyer template.

· Lock Template: after you adjust the placement of the text boxes, image boxes, lines, rectangles, etc., you may want to lock their positions into place on your template. You can click Lock Template to secure the placement of objects in your template. You may also use the Ctrl + L keys on your keyboard to lock the flyer template. When PC Access Flyer locks a template, the status bar along the bottom of the Template Designer window displays the word "Locked." You can click the Lock Template menu item again to toggle this menu item on and off.

You can also click Lock Selected Object(s) to secure the placement of individual text boxes, image boxes, etc.
