for PC Access

About the User Authorization

MFM copy protects PC Access for Windows. The User Authorization (i.e., copy protection) is a software mechanism that enforces the license agreement that protects MFM from copyright violations.

The User Authorization is on Disk 1 of your PC Access software. You must use the original Disk 1 whenever you install PC Access. A copy of this diskette will not work. Agent and Broker versions of PC Access lock themselves to your computer's CPU chip and BIOS. Once you install a Broker or Agent version of PC Access, you cannot uninstall it and move it to a different PC without using an additional Install Count. If you have a Network version of PC Access please refer to the addendum sheet that came with your software.

Broker versions of PC Access have one (1) Install Count. Agent versions have three (3) Install Counts. If you upgrade your CPU or your BIOS after you install the User Authorization, you will have to use an additional Install Count. If you know you will be upgrading your CPU or your BIOS, do so before you install the PC Access User Authorization.

Replacing your hard drive or running disk defragmenters (e.g., Norton Speed Disk) will not harm the User Authorization.

For more information about the User Authorization, see this topic in the PC Access for Windows Reference Guide:
