The Tag Format field allows you to override the default PC Access tag format and replace it with a custom tag format. PC Access uses the tag format to determine what to store in the Tag List when you Ctrl-left click the mouse on text in the Terminal or Scroll Back windows. The maximum tag format string length is 20 characters.
The following is a list of special characters you can use in the tag format string:
# Match only a number
? Match any character
X Match any letter, case insensitive
> Optional characters follow
@ Match any letter or number
The default Tag Format for PC Access is:
@####>###
The default format will match any of the following MLS number formats:
A1234
S12345
P123456
W1234567
12345
123456
1234567
12345678
As an example, if you wish to match a six-digit number exclusively, you would use a format of:
######
You may specify a Tag Format only in the MLS Setup window. The Tag Format field is not selectable on the Add/Edit Phone Book Entry window. (The Tag Format you specify in the MLS Setup window applies to all your phone book entries.)
MFM provides the Tag Format field to support the wide variety of MLS number formats. If you are unsure of the format your MLS uses, contact your MLS provider.
