To call the MFM Support BBS, you need an appropriate entry in your Phone Book. PC Access for Windows normally ships with such a Phone Book entry. If you somehow delete it, follow these instructions to create another one.
1. Click the Setup Menu button on the PC Access Main Menu window.
2. If the Advanced Setup Menu window appears, go to step 3. If the Setup Assistant appears, click the Advanced button to open the Advanced Setup Menu window.
3. Click the Phone Book button on the Advanced Setup Menu window to open the Phone Book Setup window.
4. Look in the Phone Book Entries: list for an existing MFM Support BBS entry. If you do not already have one, complete the following steps to create one. If you already have one, highlight it, click the Edit button, and skip to step 12.
5. Click the Add button to open the Add Phone Book Entry window. Fill it out as follows.
6. For Service Name, type: MFM Support BBS.
7. Click the Pick button. If you see the file MFM.SCR, select it to be your Login Script File. If you don't see this file, leave the Login Script File field blank.
8. Fill out either the Dial From Home # or Dial From Office # field, depending on where you are dialing from. If you are dialing from outside Cincinnati, Ohio, the MFM Support BBS number is 1-513-733-8783. If you are dialing from inside Cincinnati, don't type the 1-513. Include any necessary Dialing Prefixes. Select the Default Dialing radio button corresponding to the Dial From... field you filled in.
9. For Emulation, select VT-100 / ANSI.
10. For Speed, select a value appropriate for your modem. The MFM Support BBS works at all standard modem speeds from 1200 to 28,800 BPS.
11. Click the More>> button to display additional phone book setup items.
12. In the Settings check box group, select Auto Zmodem Download and Use Public Download Directory.
13. Select 8 Data Bits.
14. Select Hardware for Flow Control.
15. Click the OK button to save this Phone Book entry.
16. Click the Close button to close the Phone Book Setup window.
