You have a high speed modem, and you selected a high Speed on the MLS Setup (General Tab) window, but PC Access connects at a much slower speed (usually 2400 BPS). This can be difficult to solve.
· Occasionally a phone jack or cable has reversed polarity. Your neighborhood telephone or electronics store can supply an inexpensive polarity tester.
· Your high-speed modem may be incompatible with the modems at the MLS. Often the problem goes away if you switch to a different brand of modem.
· Your telephone cable may be bad.
· Your modem may require a non-standard initialize command to enable its high-speed mode. Refer to your modem documentation, or call your modem vendor.
