If you purchased an Upgrade Edition of PC Access 4.20, you must have your original "PC Access for Windows - Disk 1" from your PC Access version 4.00 to complete the upgrade. Follow the instructions for installing PC Access 4.20 as you would for a non-upgrade edition. After installing diskettes 1 through 4, the UAM will prompt you to reinsert "Disk 1." At this point it will check your user authorization and warn that you have one (1) install count left. Select "Yes" to continue. At the Verify Registration Code window you must type in your four-character registration code from the brightly colored sticker on the outside of your PC Access 4.20 packaging. The code will begin with the letter U.
The UAM will inform you that you are installing an upgrade edition of PC Access. At this point you must insert your original PC Access 4.00 "Disk 1" (do not use the new "Disk 1" that came with your 4.20 upgrade edition!). Click OK to continue. The UAM will verify that you have a legitimate "Disk 1" from version 4.00. After doing this it will install the user authorization for your new 4.20 upgrade edition.
· Note: Do not be alarmed by the UAM's initial message that you have only one (1) install count available. All upgrade editions of PC Access 4.20 come with one install count. During the installation process the UAM will determine whether or not your version 4.00 was an Agent or a Broker version. If it detects that you are upgrading from an Agent version of 4.00, the UAM will automatically modify your 4.20 "Disk 1" to have an additional two install counts, bringing it up to the same number of installs that you would have received if you had purchased a non-upgrade edition of PC Access 4.20.
· Once you have used your PC Access 4.00 "Disk 1" as proof of ownership for a 4.20 upgrade edition, you may no longer use your copy of version 4.00. When you buy an upgrade edition of PC Access you are getting the reduced price because you are not buying a second license. You are upgrading your old 4.00 license to a 4.20 license. That means your old 4.00 license is no longer valid after you install the upgrade.
