Auto Bold Report Labels

The Auto Bold Report Labels check box appears in the Options group on the Add/Edit Agent window. Checking this box tells PC Access to print heading text in boldface on many reports from Compass, Master, and Maestro Systems.

Auto-bolding is a PC Access feature not under explicit control by your MLS. Therefore it may not always work satisfactorily on the report you wish to print. You will have to try it and see how it works for you.

When you check the Auto Bold Report Labels box, call your MLS, and print a report, PC Access examines the report text to identify all the "labels." A label normally consists of text followed by a colon. PC Access bolds the text to the left of the colon. Occasionally this causes PC Access to bold some text which is not a label, for example ordinary text in a "remarks" field on your report.

The complete rules for auto-bolding are:

· A colon should immediately follow the label text. For example:
Address:

· PC Access needs a way to determine where field text ends and a following label begins. The following three examples illustrate the rules PC Access can use to tell that the word City: is a label, and not part of the preceding Address: field:

¨ Two spaces may separate field data from the next label:
Address: 1234 MAIN STREET City: CINCINNATI

¨ A field may end in an asterisk and have one space before the next label:
Address: 1234 PEACHTREE S* City: CINCINNATI

¨ A pipe character may separate field data from the next label:
Address: 1234 PEACHTREE ST|City: CINCINNATI

· If a field contains a price preceded by a dollar sign, the text to the left of the dollar sign will be a label even if it does not end in a colon:
List Price $100,000

· Lines of dashes with embedded text will be in bold italic. Example:

You may toggle auto-bolding during your online session by checking/unchecking the Auto Bold Labels item on the Terminal window Printing menu.
