Cannot parse printer information

PC Access is unable to make sense of an entry in your WIN.INI file in the [devices] section. The most likely cause of this problem is that your WIN.INI file is corrupt. The error message displays the name of the device (printer) entry PC Access was trying to read. You can repair your WIN.INI file with the following procedure. However, if you are an absolute computer novice, you should consider having a skilled coworker or consultant assist you.

1. Exit PC Access an any other Windows applications you may be running.
   
   
2. From the Program Manager File menu, select Run...
   
   
3. In the Command Line: field on the Run dialog, type SYSEDIT
   
   
4. Click the OK button.
   
   
5. The Windows System Configuration Editor opens and displays four child windows. Click on the title bar of the WIN.INI window to bring it to the top.
   
   
6. Select the Search menu on the System Configuration Editor window.
   
   
7. Select Find...
   
   
8. In the Find: field, type: devices
   
   
9. When you find the [devices] section in your WIN.INI file, delete the line containing the name of the printer entry PC Access can't read.
   
   
10. Save your WIN.INI file and exit the System Configuration Editor.
    
    
11. Exit Windows, restart Windows, and open the Windows Control Panel.
    
    
12. Add the printer you just deleted from WIN.INI back to your list of Windows printers. You may need to insert some of your original Windows install diskettes.
    
    
13. Start PC Access and resume what you were doing.

If you are running Windows 95 instead of Windows 3.1x and you get this message, follow the instructions for an Internal Error.
