PC Access for Windows Reference Guidefor PC Access for Windows 4.30.158Color Photos Look UglySymptom: when you download a color photo on a Master System or Maestro System, the photo first appears acceptably in black-and-white, but then looks ugly after the color data finishes downloading. Otherwise, PC Access continues to run normally. · You are probably running Windows in a 16-color display mode. Try double-clicking your mouse on the photo. This displays a Zoomed Photo window. This window displays the photo with a method called dithering which yields an acceptable appearance even on a 16-color display. The ugly appearance of photos on the screen does not affect print quality. However, for best results with all graphics programs you should change your display driver to use a mode with 256 colors or higher. Consult the documentation that came with your display adapter for instructions on how to change your display mode.
