PC Access for Windows Reference Guide

for PC Access for Windows 4.30.158

Dialing Type

The Dialing Type radio button group appears on the Modem Setup window. Click the radio button corresponding to the type of telephone line you connected to your modem. If your telephone line uses pulse dialing, select Pulse. If your telephone line uses tone dialing, select Tone. Tip: most telephone lines use tone dialing. If you can hear your modem dialing after you click the Call MLS button, but you continue to hear the dial tone after that, your telephone line probably uses pulse dialing.

When you select a Dialing Type on the Setup Assistant - Modem Setup window, PC Access enters the corresponding code in the Dial Command field on the (advanced) Modem Setup window.

If you have an ISDN modem, you must use the (advanced) Modem Setup window to specify ATD in the Dial Command field.

· If you are running Windows 95, 98, or NT, the Modem Wizard can usually determine the Dialing Type for you.

Setup item classification:

· Parent window: Setup Assistant - Modem Setup

· Setup item type: Basic

· Who specifies: You

· Importance: Necessary
