PC Access for Windows Reference Guide
for PC Access for Windows 4.30.158
PCAWUPDT.EXE
A self-extracting archive file in "ZIP" format containing PC Access update files. You do not need to extract files from PCAWUPDT.EXE yourself; LAUNCH.EXE will do this for you automatically the next time you start PC Access by double-clicking your PC Access for Windows shortcut.
You can download the latest version of PCAWUPDT.EXE from the MFM site on the World Wide Web, for example at one of the following URLs:
ftp://ftp.mfm.com/pcaccess/pcawupdt.exe
http://www.mfm.com/support/files/pcaw_files.html
If a copy of PCAWUPDT.EXE exists in your PC Access executable directory when you run LAUNCH.EXE, LAUNCH.EXE will detect it and ask your permission to extract the update files from PCAWUPDT.EXE and update your copy of PC Access to the latest Build. If you select Yes to the Update PC Access? message, LAUNCH.EXE renames PCAWUPDT.EXE to UPDATE.EXE before executing it to extract its contents. This eliminates the chance that LAUNCH.EXE will attempt to install the same update more than once.
This topic is new for PC Access 4.30 (Tuesday, January 26, 1999).
