Installing PC Access

Before you can use PC Access, someone must install it on your computer and set it up.

If you are the person responsible for installing your copy of PC Access, first make sure your computer has at least 10 MB of hard disk space available. Make sure your computer is powered on and running Microsoft Windows. Find your PC Access for Windows distribution diskettes in the shipping container. Begin the installation with diskette number one.

You may install PC Access from drive A: or B:. Choose a drive corresponding to your media type. For example, if you are installing from drive A:, place the first PC Access distribution diskette in the drive. In Windows 3.1x, pull down the File menu item in Program Manager. Select Run... from the File menu. In Windows 95 or NT, select Start | Run… from the Taskbar. In the Command Line field on the Run dialog type this:

A:SETUP.EXE

followed by pressing the Enter key. The PC Access SETUP.EXE program leads you step-by-step through a sequence of windows. Each screen describes a step in the PC Access installation, lists any possible choices you can make at that step, and waits for your response. For more information, refer to the printed Installation Guide you should have received with your copy of PC Access.

When you are done installing PC Access to your hard drive, the SETUP.EXE program automatically starts PC Access so you can complete the final steps: registering and setting up your copy of PC Access. See Register PC Access Window.
