PC Access for Windows Reference Guidefor PC Access for Windows 4.30.158Overview: New Features in PC Access 4.30PC Access version 4.30 continues to add new features. PC Access 4.30 is available both for new installations and as a special upgrade edition for customers with versions 4.00 to 4.20. For additional new features, see the lists for version 4.00 and versions 4.10/4.20. · A new E-Mail Message window lets you send Internet e-mail messages from PC Access. You may send ordinary text messages, listings and photos from your MLS, and loan payment schedules you calculate on the Amortization window. ¨ Note: to use the E-Mail Message window, your ISP must provide you with an SMTP server. The E-Mail Message window cannot send e-mail to an ISP which uses a proprietary e-mail server. · The Main Menu window now contains command buttons formerly on the Accessories Menu window. · The Parity, Data Bits, and Stop Bits settings now become gray (unselectable) on the MLS Setup (General Tab) window when you select one of the MLS Emulation values. This eliminates the possibility of setting these values incorrectly for your MLS, a frequent source of problems with earlier versions of PC Access. · New Add/Edit Agent window options: ¨ Photo Download Setup window ¨ E-Mail Setup window · New Modem Setup options: ¨ Use Alternate Event Processing: ¨ Wizard: click this button to open the Modem Wizard window. The Modem Wizard reads your modem settings from your Windows 95/98/NT registry and automatically inserts them into the Modem Setup window. · New Defaults Setup options: · A new Internet Setup window, enabling you to instruct PC Access to launch Windows Dial-Up Networking automatically when you select a PC Access command that uses the Internet. · A new Add/Edit Printer window option: · New menu items on the Terminal window: ¨ File menu: Append Capture… and Pause Capture. ¨ Tools menu: Close Slide File and Send E-Mail. · Tool tips on the Terminal window pop up to explain the host-specific feature under your cursor. ¨ For example, when the mouse cursor is over an editable field on a Maestro or Compass MLS screen, a small tool tip will appear below the mouse cursor with the words: Left Click=Goto: · New and changed Terminal window Speed Menus: ¨ Summary Listing Speed Menu, Full Listing Speed Menu, and Photo Gallery Speed Menu: these Compass Speed Menus have new options for saving listings and photos to disk and sending them via Internet e-mail. ¨ Listing Function Speed Menu: this new Maestro Speed Menu has an option for sending a listing and photo via Internet e-mail. · Faster TCP/IP speed: PC Access now uses a "double-buffering" technique to handle TCP/IP data transfers. This lets PC Access take better advantage of high-speed WAN connections to the Internet. If you selected TCP-telnet or TCP-rlogin for your Connection method on the MLS Setup (General Tab) window, your TCP/IP connection to your MLS will run much more smoothly if you connect to the Internet at high speed. Zmodem file transfers also run faster. · VISTAinfo Real Estate Solutions is now the vendor of the Compass, Maestro, and Master multiple listing service systems. Previously the vendors were Moore Data Management Services and BORIS. All references to these earlier vendors are now gone from PC Access and its documentation. · Script language additions and changes (several of these became available as undocumented features in later build releases of PC Access 4.20, but we are unveiling them now with PC Access 4.30): ¨ New script command: sendtoday. ¨ Improvements to existing commands: if/then, readdata, set, and wait. · CD-ROM distribution: with version 4.30, PC Access becomes available on CD-ROM for the first time. If you received your copy on CD-ROM rather than on diskettes, look for these extras formerly available only on the MFM Web site: ¨ The PC Access for Windows Reference Guide in PDF, suitable for viewing and printing from your computer. ¨ Animated demonstrations of PC Access and accessory programs. ¨ Other features you can learn about by reading the This topic is new for PC Access 4.30.
