PC Access for Windows Reference Guide

for PC Access for Windows 4.30.158

Scroll Back Window

The Scroll Back window appears when:

  1. You click the Scroll button on the Terminal window; or

  2. You click the Scroll button, or the Tools | Scroll Back menu item, on the Main Menu window.

The Scroll Back window shows you a record of your online session(s) so far in the current run of PC Access. For a host that scrolls text continuously on the Terminal window, this record contains all the text you typed, and all the text the remote service sent back to you. For a screen-oriented host (such as a Maestro System), the Scroll Back window may not be able to display your entire session.

· The current version of PC Access cannot capture photos in the scroll back buffer. You may, however, capture photos along with text to a slide show file, by clicking the Slide button on the Terminal window.

· When you open the Scroll Back window, the text you viewed most recently appears first.

· You can use the arrow keys (¬®¯) to navigate through the Scroll Back text. You may also manipulate the scroll bars at the bottom and right edges of the window. If you are viewing text from a screen-oriented host (such as a Master System or Maestro System), the Page Up key displays the previous screen of text, and Page Down displays the next.

PC Access maintains a scroll back buffer which holds 3000 lines of text. If you fill up the buffer while you run the program, the program erases the oldest information in the file to make room for new information. The Scroll Back window lets you see the contents of the scroll back buffer.

The information in the scroll back buffer normally vanishes when you exit PC Access or select a new agent. You can override this by checking the Keep Scrollback Data box on the Defaults Setup window. You may also save information in the scroll back buffer to a disk file.
