SCANDISK
The MS-DOS command for repairing common types of file system damage on your hard disk. For more information, type HELP SCANDISK at your MS-DOS prompt. In Windows 95 and Windows NT, you may also select My Computer, right-click any disk drive, and select Properties | Tools | Check Now. You should run SCANDISK periodically with the "full surface analysis" or "Thorough" option to keep your hard disk working correctly.
