PC Access for Windows Reference Guidefor PC Access Version 4.30![]() ![]() ![]()
ABM FileThe ABM File field appears below the Login Script File field on the MLS Setup (General Tab) window. "ABM" stands for "Answer Back Message." An ABM file contains a special code that PC Access sends to a remote host as part of the login sequence. If you check the Use ABM box and enter a file name in this field, PC Access will send the ABM code in that file to your MLS when your MLS requests an ABM. If your MLS requires an ABM file (and only your MLS personnel can tell you whether it does), you should have received one with your copy of PC Access. If so, you may click the Pick button to display a file selector window showing all your available ABM files. ABM file names always have the .ABM file name extension. If your Emulation is Moore Compass, and you check the Use ABM box, and you do not select an ABM file, PC Access will construct a default ABM consisting of the letters LM followed by your PC Access serial number. If your Emulation is not Moore Compass, and you check the Use ABM box, and you do not select an ABM file, PC Access will fill in the ABM File field automatically with PCAWIN.ABM when you click the OK button. Setup item classification: · Parent window: MLS Setup (General Tab) · Setup item type: Advanced · Who specifies: MLS/Common · Importance: Necessary if host requires it
