Bit Parameters Radio Button Groups

This help topic describes three radio button groups on the MLS Setup (General Tab) window.

· Data Bits: Select the number of bits that make up one character during transmission. You should set this option to match the service you are calling.

· Stop Bits: Always use 1 stop bit, unless you know the service you are calling uses 2.

· Parity: Select the parity that matches the parity of the service you are calling. Usually, if the service uses 7 data bits, it uses Even parity. If it uses 8 data bits, select None.

Most MLS sites use these settings: Data Bits: 8; Stop Bits: 1; Parity: None. WPML uses: Data Bits: 7; Stop Bits: 1; Parity: Even.

Setup item classification:

· Parent window: MLS Setup (General Tab)

· Setup item type: Advanced

· Who specifies: MLS/Common

· Importance: Necessary
