E-Mail Setup Window: My Internet Mail Server

Enter the hostname or numerical I.P. address of your Internet SMTP e-mail server. If you do not know what to type in this field, ask your ISP.

· If PC Access has any trouble reaching your mail server, try testing your Internet connection to your mail server with the PING command at a DOS prompt. For example, if your mail server is mail.nowhere.com, try typing:
PING mail.nowhere.com
at a DOS prompt. If you get Request Timed Out errors, check your connection to the Internet or contact your ISP for assistance.

· Some ISP's only accept e-mail you send from a proprietary e-mail program and will not permit you to send e-mail from another SMTP client such as PC Access. If your ISP supplies you with an e-mail program, you may need to check with your ISP to see if you will be able to send e-mail from PC Access.

Setup item classification:

· Parent window: E-Mail Setup

· Setup item type: Advanced

· Who specifies: You

· Importance: Optional
