Modem Setup (Advanced Items)The Modem Setup window appears when you click the Modem button on the Advanced Setup Menu window. Use this window to control how PC Access connects to and dials your modem. Quick Start Method for Windows 95, 98, and NT users who already use their modem with 32-bit Windows applications: 1. Click the Wizard button to open the Modem Wizard window. 2. On the Modem Wizard window, highlight the modem entry you use to dial your modem with 32-bit Windows applications. (For such an entry to exist, you must have already set up your modem in Windows via the Windows Control Panel or My Computer | Dial-Up Networking.) 3. Click the OK button on the Modem Wizard window to copy your modem setup from the Windows Registry into PC Access. 4. Click the Test button on the Modem Setup window. If your modem passes the test, click the OK button to close the Modem Setup window. If your modem fails the test, follow the instructions for Error in Modem Command The Modem Setup window displays several command buttons and setup items. They are: Pick, Port, Test, Term, Disable Comm Events, Use Alternate Event Processing, Wizard, Dialing Type, Dial Command, Reset Command, Default Initialize Command, Maximum Redial Attempts, Time Division Window, and Delay. The Modem Setup window also displays a Status Line showing you some information about your serial port settings in Windows. This topic has changed for PC Access 4.30.
