MLS Hangs up Randomly

· Do you have call waiting? If so, be sure you have disabled it. Check your Dialing Prefixes.

· Your MLS may be hanging up on you due to an inactivity logout. Call your MLS provider and ask how long you may remain inactive before the MLS logs you out.

¨ Your MLS may consider you to be "inactive" even while the MLS is actually sending you data, for example during some printing operations. If so, this is simply a "glitch" of how the MLS determines inactivity, and PC Access can't overcome it. You may experience this problem if you are printing color photos at very high resolutions on a very slow computer. This was a fairly common problem with PC Access for DOS, but PC Access for Windows prints substantially faster.

· Some modems (for example, the USR Sportster) require a special Default Initialize Command. Try setting your Flow Control to XON/XOFF. If this cures the hangup problem, return to the Modem Setup window and Pick your exact modem from the Modem Selection window. Then set your Flow Control back to Hardware on the MLS Setup (General Tab) window.
