for PC Access Version 4.30

Unknown command line parameter

This message appears if you run LAUNCH.EXE with any following nonblank character(s) on the command line other than the word BACKUP (in any combination of uppercase or lowercase letters). If you receive this error after double-clicking the Back Up PCAWin Setup shortcut in your PC Access for Windows folder, check the shortcut command line. To do this, right-click the Back Up PCAWin Setup shortcut, select Properties from the local menu, and select the Shortcut tab on the Back Up PCAWin Setup Properties window. Inspect the entry in the Target field. It should resemble the following:

C:\PCAWIN\LAUNCH.EXE BACKUP

If your PC Access executable directory is different than C:\PCAWIN change the above command line accordingly. The SETUP.EXE program should have created this shortcut with the correct Target field when you installed PC Access. If this error message began appearing sometime after you installed PC Access, the most likely cause is that someone edited your shortcut properties incorrectly.

This topic is new for PC Access 4.30 (Saturday, January 30, 1999).
