PC Access for Windows Reference Guidefor PC Access Version 4.30![]() ![]() ![]()
Overview: New Features in PC Access 4.10/4.20PC Access versions 4.10 and 4.20 add many new features over version 4.00. PC Access 4.20 is available both for new installations and as a special upgrade edition for version 4.00 users. For additional new features, see the lists for version 4.00 and version 4.30. · TCP/IP Wide Area Network (WAN) support - allows you to connect to your MLS using standard WAN services such as PPP, ISDN, 56K DDS, Frame Relay, or T1. These connect to your MLS much more reliably than modems on POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) lines, and provide a range of connect speeds from slow (PPP) to very fast (T1). If you purchase your WAN connectivity from an ISP, you can connect to your MLS with PC Access while you simultaneously browse the World Wide Web on your computer. · A superior, less intrusive user authorization means less downtime. Your user authorization now tolerates backing up and restoring from removable media on a single computer. You can defragment your hard disk or move PC Access to a new directory on a single computer without needing to uninstall your user authorization first. A new standalone User Authorization Manager helps you install, back up, and check the status of your user authorization. · A LAN version lets multiple users on different workstations share a single copy of PC Access. You can also share your Phone Book Setup and Agent Setup between multiple users. · The Modem Setup window now lets you select any Port from COM1 to COM8. · The Terminal window in Moore Compass and Maestro Emulation shows optional 3D button highlighting on most mouse-selectable host-specific features. · Many Maestro browse lists display scrollbars. · You can view and print vertical format (e.g. agent) photos under Maestro. · A selectable Print Offset helps you line up mailing-label host reports with die-cut or sheet-fed label stock. · An improved Tag List lets you delete multiple tags in one operation, send your selected tags, and automatically delete tags after sending. · You can drag-select text on the Terminal window and copy it to the Windows Clipboard. You can paste text from the Clipboard to your online session. · You can drag your mouse to select text on the Scroll Back window and copy it to the Clipboard. · Powerful new script language commands: opendata, closedata, readdata, saveimage, set, store, and if/then. · Script tracing lets you monitor a running script while debugging and testing. · Maestro users can capture an online session to a text file for later editing. · PC Access connects with the Flyer Accessory. · Users with color postscript printers can now print photos in color. · 24 bit True Color support: PC Access will display your photos with greater color depth if your video display adapter supports true color images. · Need more lines per page? You can scale all your printed reports to a smaller text and photo size, letting you print more lines per page. · Delayed dialing: You can set up a Phone Book entry to dial your MLS at night and automatically complete routine tasks for you (such as printing updates). See: Phone Book Select window, Login Script File, and Delayed Dial Time. · Jump menus: the Terminal window now contains a menu item with the name of the current Emulation, if the Emulation is Maestro, Master, Moore Compass, or WPML. Selecting this jump menu item displays a menu of commands specific to your MLS. You or your MLS provider may also customize the jump menu completely. · A Speed Button on the Terminal window can now open a Windows help file directly without needing to call an intermediate script file. · The Auto Bold Report Labels check box on the Add/Edit Agent window lets you improve the appearance of many reports from Master, Maestro, and Compass systems.
