Download Listings Overview

This topic contains instructions on how to manually download listings and HotSync your Palm compatible PDA. If you set up a download schedule and a HotSync schedule, Pocket Full of Listings and your PDA automate this process.

Before you can download listings, make sure you have completed the following:

• Setting up your Search Criteria
  
  
• Setting up Pocket Full of Listings Desktop

After you complete the instructions in the above topics, you can download listings.

1. Click Start | Programs | Pocket Full of Listings Desktop | PFoL Desktop.
   
   
2. From the Pocket Full of Listings Desktop Main Menu window, click the Download button. Pocket Full of Listings Desktop will display the Progress window.

   

3. When Pocket Full of Listings Desktop finishes download listings, you need to HotSync your PDA.
   
   
4. Place your PDA in its cradle and press the HotSync button on the cradle. HotSync will display a HotSync Progress window on both your PDA and on your computer.

   

5. During the HotSync process the Pocket Full of Listings Conduit should display the PFoL HotSync Status window. This window shows you the progress of the HotSync process between your computer and Pocket Full of Listings.

   

6. When HotSync finishes, you can use Pocket Full of Listings to access listings on your PDA.

Note: each time you HotSync your PDA, it may take some additional time to get to the Pocket Full of Listings Main Menu window. After each HotSync, Pocket Full of Listings sorts the information you downloaded. The amount of time it takes to Pocket Full of Listings to complete the sorting process depends on how many listings you download and the size of the Agent and Office rosters. It can range from a few extra seconds to several minutes. If you set up a HotSync schedule via the Automatic Updates window, this issue will not affect you. In addition to automatically running HotSync, the Automatic Updates process pre-sorts the new data, so when you pick your PDA off the cradle in the morning, it already finished the sorting process.
