Setting up a Download Schedule

After you complete the steps in the following topics:

• Installing Files
  
  
• Setting up your Search Criteria
  
  
• Setting up Pocket Full of Listings Desktop

You can set up a download schedule. When you set up a download schedule, Pocket Full of Listings Desktop will automatically download listings at the time(s) you specify and with the search criteria you selected on the PDA Saved Searches Web page.

Note: you can set up several searches on the PDA Web site. The PDA Saved Searches window lists all of the searches you may have set up. When you download listings, Pocket Full of Listings will use the search criteria with a check in the Active column. For information about entering search criteria and the PDA Saved Searches Web page, see: Setting up your Search Criteria.

1. To set up a download schedule, click Start | Programs | Pocket Full of Listings Desktop | PFoL Desktop.
   
   
2. From the Pocket Full of Listings Desktop Main Menu window, click View | Setup.
   
   
3. From the Pocket Full of Listings Desktop Setup window, click the Runtime Behavior tab.

   

4. In the Run Mode group, click the Download as Scheduled radio button. Next, click the Schedule... button.
   
   
5. From the Schedule window, you can select how often you want Pocket Full of Listings Desktop to download listings.

   

6. By default, Pocket Full of Listings Desktop will download listings daily. It selects a random time between 1:00AM and 3:45AM. You can use the spin control in Start at group to change the time.
   
   
7. When you finish making changes, click OK to return to the Runtime Behavior tab.
   
   
8. If you decide that you do not want Pocket Full of Listings Desktop to automatically download listings, check the Normal radio button. If you check the Normal radio button, Pocket Full of Listings Desktop will not download listings using the schedule you may have set up. If you select Normal, you must manually initiate the download process by clicking the Download button on the Pocket Full of Listings Desktop Main Menu window. If you want Pocket Full of Listings Desktop to use the schedule you may have set up, check the Download as Scheduled radio button.
   
   
9. After you (or Pocket Full of Listings Desktop) downloads listings, you need to HotSync your Palm compatible PDA. After you run HotSync, the listings you downloaded will appear in Pocket Full of Listings. If you set up Pocket Full of Listings Desktop to automatically download listings, you may want to set up HotSync to run automatically. For more information, see: Setting up a HotSync Schedule.
