Setting up your Search Criteria

Before you can search for listings on your Palm compatible PDA, you need to set up your search criteria.

1. Log into the PDA Web site. If you need the URL, refer to the Your Login Information sheet that came with Pocket Full of Listings; or contact MFM. You can also find a Username and Password for the PDA Web site on the Your Login Information sheet.
   
   
2. From the PDA Saved Searches window, click the Create New Search button to open the PDA Search window.

   

3. From the PDA Search window, enter your search criteria. You may want to keep your search criteria broad. When you keep your search criteria broad, you download more listings. Once the listings are in your PDA you can use the search features in Pocket Full of Listings to narrow down the result set that you'll see on the PDA's screen. When you complete the fields on the PDA Search window, click Accept.
   
   
4. After you click Accept, your browser displays the PDA Review window. From this window, click the Submit button to display the PDA Confirm window. From the PDA Confirm window, click the Saved Searches hyperlink to open the Saved Searches window.

   

5. The PDA Saved Searches window lists all of the searches you set up on the PDA Web site. To use a search on this window, check the Active radio button next to a search. Next, click the Start Download of Active Search button. Your browser will download the listings that match the active search criteria to the Pocket Full of Listings Desktop. You may keep many different Searches in your PDA Saved Searches list, but only one of them may be active at any given time. The Active search is the one that Pocket Full of Listings Desktop will use to determine which listings it downloads and HotSyncs to your PDA.
   
   
6. When you finish downloading listings, HotSync your PDA to transfer the listings from the Pocket Full of Listings Desktop to your PDA.
   
   
7. After you set up your search criteria and HotSync your PDA, we recommend that you set up the Pocket Full of Listings Desktop. See: Setting up Pocket Full of Listings Desktop.
