The MSD program comes with MS-DOS versions 6.xx and Windows 3.1x. MSD can
generate a report with many details about your computer's hardware
and software. You should follow these instructions
when requested to do so by a technical support representative.
Providing this report to your technical support representative
is usually essential for solving difficult support problems.

- Exit all Windows programs.
- From your Windows desktop, click File | Exit Windows.
- At the MSD prompt, type:
CD \PCAWIN
MSD
- Note: If you installed PC Access for Windows to a different drive or directory,
modify the above commands accordingly.
MSD checks your computer and shows a screen with a menu bar at the
top and several buttons.
- Press Alt-F or click File.
- Press P to select Print Report...
- On the Report Information window, check the Report All box.
- In the Print to: dialog box, select File.
- In the File: field, change the file name from REPORT.MSD
to something unique to you. You can construct a file name from your
first initial and the first seven characters of
your last name. For example, if your name is Pat Producer, you would type:
PPRODUCE.MSD
- Click OK or press Enter.
- Complete the Customer Information window. As you fill it out,
press the Tab key to advance to the next field. Do
not press Enter until you finish filling out all the fields.
- Click OK, or press Enter to save your MSD report file.
- Press F3 to exit MSD.
- Type
WIN
to re-start Windows.
- After you create an MSD Report, see:

- Open your E-mail message window.
- If you are following these instructions on-line,
Click here to
open an e-mail message window.
- If you are reading a printed copy of these instructions,
click File | New | Message
- Note: If your E-mail message window does not have an option to use
File | New | Message, contact your software
provider if you need assistance opening an E-mail message window.
- In the body of the message, include:
- Your name
- Your E-mail address
- Describe the problem you are having
- Your PC Access Build and Version number
- Click Attach to attach a copy of your MSD Report to this e-mail message.
- Note: If your MSD report is larger than 500Kb, please use PKZip or WinZip to compress your
file before you attach it to this message.
- Note: If your E-mail message window does not have an option to
Attach, contact your software
provider for assistance.
- In the To: field type:
- Click Send to send your message and MSD Report to MFM
