[E-mail Listings and Photos]
Introduction
If you access a Compass MLS
system and both of the following are true:
then you can use
PCAPLUS.EXE to
e-mail listings and property photos to your clients.
For information on using
PCAPLUS.EXE see:
However, if you cannot use
PCAPLUS.EXE for any of the following reasons:
- Your
ISP does not allow third-party programs
(such as
PCAPLUS.EXE) to access their
SMTP mail server.
You have PC Access 4.00,
4.10, or
4.20
then you can use the instructions below to E-mail Listings and Photos to
your clients.
If your MLS is a Maestro system, see:
E-mail Listings and Photos
If your
ISP does not allow third-party programs to access their
SMTP mail server; you have a
version of PC Access other than
PC Access 4.30, you can use your Compass
MLS system to download listings and/or photos, then
e-mail the listings and/or photos as
e-mail attachments.
Use the instructions below to:
- Run PC Access and log in to your Compass MLS system.
- Search for listings on Compass.
- Select the Photo Report option to display the listings.
- Right-click on the listing(s) you want to
e-mail.
- From the pop-up window select Save Full Listing/Photo to Disk.
- When you finish saving the listings you want to save to disk, log off your MLS system.
- Connect to the Internet.
- Open an
e-mail message window in your e-mail software.
- Note: If you do not know how to open an e-mail message window,
contact your software provider for assistance.
- From your e-mail message window in your e-mail software, click Attach.
- Note: If you do not know how to attach files to your e-mail messages,
contact your software provider for assistance.
- From the attach file window, change directories to your PC Access
executable directory, usually
C:\PCAWIN.
Next, open your
home directory.
In your PC Access
home directory:
- Note:
- Each listing you download will have two files.
- Each file begins with the property's listing number followed by a three digit file extension.
- One file contains the listing text, for example:
1368134.TXT, the other file
contains the photo, for example:
1368134.JPG.
If you want to
e-mail a listing and the corresponding photo to a client,
you need to attach both 1368134.TXT
and 1368134.JPG files to your
e-mail message.
When you finish attaching the listing and photo files, send the
e-mail message to your client.
