Installing PC Access® without a 3.5" Disk Drive
NOTE: PC Access® is NOT compatible with Windows Vista.
In June 2005, MFM released a utility that will allow you to install the PC Access
User Authorization without Disk 1 and a 3.5" disk drive. The utility,
PC Access Forced Install, replaces our
previous alternate user authorization
instructions.
The PC Access program files must be installed before you use the
installation instructions on this page. The installation
instructions assume PC Access was previously installed on your computer and
you now need to install the user authorization. If you need to install the PC Access program files,
see
Installing Files.
The following instructions will help you download the PC Access Forced
Install utility and install the user authorization and configuration files.
- Print these instructions. Once you have installed and entered
the PC Access Forced Install utility, you will no longer be able to see this screen!
- Download the PC Access Forced Install utility.
Click the following link to download the file:
NoDiskInstall.exe (Size: 174KB)
- Internet Explorer
- From the File Download window, select Save.
- SFrom the Save in drop-down list, select Desktop and click Save.
- Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox Users
- From the Opening NoDiskInstall window, select
Save it to Disk and click OK.
- From the Save in drop-down list, select
Desktop and click Save.
- The file, NoDiskInstall.exe, should now be on your Desktop.
- Click NoDiskInstall.exe on your Desktop.

In PC Access Forced Install:
If the PC Access Forced Install fails:
- Be sure you entered the Serial Number correctly. This is the number from Disk 1.
- Try turning off your computer, re-boot and run the PC Access Forced Install again. (You may need to try this several times.)
- Anti-virus software sometimes interferes with the installtion process. Try running the PC Access Forced Install utility with the anti-virus software disabled.

Install the PC Access 4.30 configuration files.

Download:
PC Access 4.30 Disk 1 Configuration Files
- Internet Explorer Users
- From the File Download window select Open
to run the self-installing 430disk1.exe file.
- From the WinZip Self-Extractor window, click
Unzip. This will unzip the configuration
files to your C:\PCAWIN directory.
- Click Close to exit WinZip.
- Netscape or Mozilla Users
- From the Opening 430disk1 window, click
Save it to Disk and click OK.
- From the Save in drop-down list, select Desktop
and click Save.
- On your Desktop, double-click 430disk1.exe.
- On the WinZip Self-Extractor window, click Unzip.
This will unzip the configuration files to your
C:\PCAWIN directory.
- Click Close to exit WinZip
- To run PC Access, click Start | Programs or
All Programs | PC Access for Windows |
PC Access for Windows.
- You can follow the prompts to set up PC Access for Windows. If you need
