Quick Contents

[Introduction] [Create a Shortcut] [Related Information]

Introduction

If you have installed PC Access on Windows 95, 98, or NT, you can add a shortcut to your Windows desktop to run PC Access. This allows you to start PC Access without having to navigate the Windows Start Menu.

If you incorrectly create a PC Access shortcut, you can cause problems with PC Access. For that reason, MFM Technical support lists the steps you need to take to create a PC Access shortcut on your desktop.

  • Note: MFM does not provide technical support for creating desktop shortcuts.
Follow the steps below to add a PC Access shortcut to your Windows desktop.

Create a Shortcut

  1. Right-click on your Start button.
  2. Click Open from the pop-up window.
  3. Double-click the Programs icon in the Start Menu folder.
  4. Double-click the PC Access for Windows icon in the Programs folder.
  5. In the PC Access for Windows folder, position the mouse cursor over the PC Access for Windows icon.
  6. Click and hold down the right mouse button.
  7. Continue to hold down the right mouse button and drag the mouse to an empty area of your Windows desktop.
    • Note: While you drag the mouse to your Windows desktop, Windows displays an outline of the PC Access shortcut that moves along with the mouse pointer.
  8. Release the right mouse button. Click Copy Here from the pop-up menu.
    • Note: If you want Windows to arrange all of the icons on your desktop, right-click on an empty area of your desktop. Select Arrange from the pop-up menu, then select the type of arrangement you want.
