If this is the first time you are running PC Access, it displays the
Register PC Access for Windows window.
-
Complete each field on the Register PC Access for Windows
window. You can press the Tab key to move from field to
field. When you finish, click OK. After you click OK
on this window, you cannot change the information you entered. If
you are unsure about any of the information, click Cancel
and run PC Access again later.
-
After you click OK on the Register PC Access for Windows
window, PC Access displays the Backing Up License File window.
Click Cancel at the A:\ if you do not have a 3.5"
disk drive. PC Access will create the PC Access license file
(PCAWIN.LIC) in the PC Access executable directory
(C:\PCAWIN).
-
The installation assistant will walk you through setting up PC Access.
Click the Basic button to set up your Agent, MLS, and modem
information.
-
In the Phone # to Dial field on the MLS Setup window,
type the phone number to your MLS system. If you need to dial a number
to access an outside line, include that number in the Phone # to
Dial field. You may need to add a comma after the number. For
example:
9,555-1234. If you do not know the phone
number to the modems at your MLS office, contact your MLS.
If you connect to your MLS system via your Internet connection, you
still need to enter a phone number in the Phone # to Dial field.
Enter any phone number in this field to continue setting up PC Access.
Follow the rest of the instructions in this section to setup your
agent and modem information. When you finish, see:
Set up your Internet Connection
to set up PC Access to connect to your MLS via your Internet connection.
In the Speed group select a connection speed. We recommend
setting it at 19,200. It is best to start out with a slow speed
to make sure everything is working properly.
In the Emulation group, select the type of system your MLS uses.
If PC Access prompts you to update Speed Buttons, click Yes.
-
When you finish, click Next.
-
On the Agent Setup window, enter your name, MLS login name,
and MLS password. You can enter your name in this format:
Seller, Sally. When you finish, click Next.
If you do not know your MLS login name and/or your MLS password,
contact your MLS.
-
On the Modem Setup window, click the Wizard button to
display the Modem Wizard window. Select your modem from the list
and click OK on the Modem Wizard window. The
Modem Wizard is not compatible with Windows NT 4.0, 2000 or XP.
If you are using one of these versions of Windows, you need to manually
select your COM port.
If the Modem Wizard cannot determine which COM port your
modem is on; or if the Modem Wizard is not compatible with your
version of Windows, you will have to manually select your COM port. To
manually select your COM port, select COM 1 and click Test.
If your modem is on COM 1, PC Access will display the
Modem Test Complete window. If your modem is not on COM 1,
PC Access will display the Modem Not Responding window.
You need to continue selecting COM ports and clicking the
Test button until one of the COM ports passes the modem test.
-
When you finish, click Done.
-
After you click Done, PC Access will display the
Main Menu window. You are now ready to dial your MLS!
