- Compaq Presario and Packard Bell Re-boot Problems

- Symptom: Your computer
spontaneously reboots while online to the MLS in PC Access for
Windows. This problem has occurred on some Compaq
Presario and Packard Bell
computers.
- Solution: MFM has developed a workaround which seems to solve
the problem on these computers. Follow these instructions.
- Check to see if you are running Build 93 or
later of
PC Access for Windows.
- If you are not running Build 93 or later, you need to update
your copy
of PC Access for Windows.
- If you have access to the World Wide Web, you can
download
an update from:
- You may be able to download an update from your MLS. (See
the topic Downloading an Update to PC Access from Your
MLS in the PC Access for Windows Reference Guide.

If you subscribe to an MLS in the following list, you can
download an update from it:
- Multiple Listing Service of Greater Cincinnati, Inc.
- Once you are running Build 93 or later, click the
Setup Menu button on the PC Access
for Windows Main Menu window.
- On the Setup Assistant window, click the
Advanced button. This opens the
Advanced Setup Menu window.
- On the Advanced Setup
Menu window, click the
Modem button.
- On the Modem Setup window, click the
More>> button.
- Check the Disable Comm Events box. Click the
OK button.
- Click the Close button on the
Advanced Setup Menu window.
- Try calling your MLS. Your computer should no longer reboot
while online to the MLS. If it does, you will need to call your
technical support representative again.
