PC Access 4.30 and Windows XP

Introduction

MFM has tested PC Access for Windows running in Windows XP. Our tests did not reveal any significant problems. However, we had a couple of reports from users who experienced problems with PC Access after they upgraded to Windows XP. MFM was unable to reproduce the problems.

MFM will attempt to resolve any compatibility problems that you might have. However, if we cannot track down the source of the problems, we cannot guarantee the compatibility of PC Access in Windows XP. In addition, it may be possible that PC Access is compatible with Windows XP itself, but it may not be compatible with other third-party programs running in Windows XP.

It may take MFM time to correlate the problems our users report with specific hardware and software configurations.

Windows XP Information

• The PC Access for Windows 4.30 Modem Wizard will not read the modem settings from the Windows XP Registry. This problem also occurs in Windows 2000. For details, see:

• If you are running Windows XP and you attempt to install PC Access for Windows 4.20 or 4.30 into a directory name that is longer than eight characters, you will not be able to install your User Authorization. For details see:
