PC Access® Skips Fields when you Press the Enter Key

PC Access may skip fields when you press the Enter key. This
problem can occur when all of the following conditions are true:
- you are using PC Access for Windows 4.20 or 4.30.
- you are online with your Compass MLS system.
- you selected the TCP-telnet radio button in the
Connection Method group on the
MLS Setup (General) tab.

- Make sure you are running the current Build for your version of PC Access.
Use the Update Wizard to
verify that you are using the current Build for your version. You can
also use the Update Wizard
to download an update.
- Click Start | Programs |
PC Access for Windows | PC Access for Windows.
- From the PC Access Main Menu window, click
Setup Menu | Advanced | MLS Setup.
- On the MLS Setup (General) tab, make sure you selected
Compass from the Emulation group and
TCP-telnet from the Connection group.
- Note: if you click the Compass radio button,
PC Access will prompt you to reload Speed Buttons. Click Yes
to reload your Speed Buttons. In addition to reloading
Speed Buttons, PC Access will reload all of the default Compass
settings on the MLS Setup window and
select the Telnet Force 8 Bit check box on the
TCP/IP tab.
- Click the TCP/IP tab. Check the Telnet Force
8 bit check box. Click OK to close the
MLS Setup window.
- Click Close to close the Advanced Setup Menu.
Click Call MLS to connect to your Compass MLS system.
- Run a search and verify that PC Access no longer skips fields. Once you
verify that the problem no longer exists, you should back up your
PC Access configuration files. To do this, first exit PC Access.
- Click Start | Programs |
PC Access for Windows | Back Up PCAWin Setup.
Follow the instructions on your screen to back up the PC Access
configuration files.
