If you experience difficulty connecting to your MLS and any of the following
conditions are true:
- You are using PC Access for Windows version:
- 4.20.133 or earlier; or
- 4.30.154 or earlier
- You set up PC Access for Windows to connect to your MLS via your Cable Modem
or DSL line.
- PC Access for Windows displays a "Port in use" error when
it tries to connect to your MLS system via the Internet.
- You can connect to your MLS. However, you immediately get disconnected when
another user in your office connects to your MLS.
you may be experiencing a TCP-Telnet Non-reserved port problem.
To correct this type of problem, you need to download and install
an update. For more information, see: Update PC Access for Windows.
To correct a TCP-Telnet Non-reserved port problem, you need to update your
version of PC Access for Windows. To update your version of PC Access, select
one of the following update options:

- Download and install the PC Access 4.20.134 update.
- Save the WinZip self-extracting file:
http://support.mfm.com/files/windows/pcaccess/fu134z.exe to a directory
on your hard disk, for example C:\DOWNLOAD.
The fu134z.exe file size is 2354kb. (2.29MB).
- After you have downloaded fu134z.exe, click Start |
Programs | Windows Explorer.
- Go to the C:\DOWNLOAD folder (or the folder where you
saved the fu134z.exe file).
Double-click on fu134z.exe.
- A WinZip self-extractor window will appear defaulting
to the C:\PCAWIN executable directory.
- If you accepted the defaults when you installed PC Access for Windows,
your executable directory is C:\PCAWIN.
(If you installed PC Access for Windows to a different directory, substitute
that directory in the Unzip to folder field).
- Click Unzip to extract the contents of fu134z.exe
to your PC Access for Windows executable directory.
- A WinZip Self-Extractor window will display this message:
"45 file(s) unzipped successfully".
Click OK to close this window.
Click Close to exit WinZip.
- Run PC Access and connect to your MLS.

Note: The instructions below apply to Build 132 users only.
If you are not running PC Access for Windows 4.20.132, do not
download this update. See: Update PC Access for Windows
for more information.
- Download and install the PC Access 4.20.134 Update.
- Save the WinZip self-extracting file:
http://support.mfm.com/files/windows/pcaccess/132_134z.exe to a directory
on your hard disk, for example C:\DOWNLOAD.
The 132_134z.exe file size is 1025kb. (1MB).
- After you have downloaded 132_134z.exe, click Start |
Programs | Windows Explorer.
- Go to the C:\DOWNLOAD folder (or the folder where you
saved the 132_134z.exe file).
Double-click on 132_134z.exe.
- A WinZip self-extractor window will appear defaulting
to the C:\PCAWIN executable directory.
- If you accepted the defaults when you installed PC Access for Windows,
your executable directory is C:\PCAWIN.
(If you installed PC Access for Windows to a different directory, substitute
that directory in the Unzip to folder field).
- Click Unzip to extract the contents of 132_134z.exe
to your PC Access for Windows executable directory.
- A WinZip Self-Extractor window will display this message:
"6 file(s) unzipped successfully".
Click OK to close this window.
Click Close to exit WinZip.
- Run PC Access and connect to your MLS.

- Download and install the Build 158 update. You can use the
Update Wizard to
determine what type of update you should download.
- After you download and install the Build 158 update,
Run PC Access and connect to your MLS.
