Error 501 HELO When Sending E-mail

Introduction
Error 501 HELO occurs when you try to send MLS listings using the
PC Access
E-mail Message window and any of the following conditions
are true:
- You have invalid characters, spaces, or no entry at all in
either the Host: or Domain:
field on the
TCP/IP Properties window in your Windows Network setup.
If any of the above conditions are true, your Internet Service Provider's
(ISP)
SMTP mail server
causes
PCAPLUS.EXE to display any one of the following error messages:
- Error 501 HELO
- Error 501 HELO Requires Domain Name
- Error 501 HELO Invalid Domain Name

- Click
Start | Settings | Control Panel
| Network.
- On the Configuration tab
under The following network components are installed: box, click
TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter. Next, click
Properties.
- Note: You may receive the TCP/IP Properties Information
window, click OK to continue.
- Click on the DNS Configuration tab. Click on the radio
button next to Enable DNS.
- In the Host: field, type in your account name for your
ISP.
- Note: Your account name is usually your user name. For
example, if your e-mail address is
johndoe@domain.com

next to the Host: field.
- In the Domain: field, type in your
ISP's domain name.
- Note: If your e-mail address is
johndoe@domain.com

next to the Domain: field.
- Click OK to save the changes you made to the
TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter configuration. Click OK to close the
Network window.
- Windows may prompt you to restart the computer.
- Click
Start | Settings | Control Panel
| Network.
- In the Network window, click the
Protocols tab.
- Double-click TCP/IP Protocol. Next, click the
DNS tab.
- In the Host Name: field, type in your account name for your
ISP.
- Note: Your account name is usually your user name. For
example, if your e-mail address is
johndoe@domain.com

next to the Host Name: field.
- In the Domain: field, type in your
ISP's domain name.
- Note: If your e-mail address is
johndoe@domain.com

next to the Domain: field.
- Click OK to save the changes you made to the
TCP/IP Protocol configuration. Click OK to close the
Network window.
- Windows NT may prompt you to restart the computer.
