CC Outgoing Messages to Myself

[Introduction] [Enable CC Outgoing Messages to Myself] [Related Information]

Introduction

The PC Access for Windows 4.30.147 E-mail Message window originally had a CC Outgoing Messages to Myself feature. Before the release of version 4.30.147, VISTAinfo (formerly Moore Data Management Services) asked MFM to remove the CC Outgoing Messages to Myself feature. MFM removed the feature from PC Access 4.30.147. However, MFM was unable to remove the help topic from the PC Access for Windows Reference Guide before the release of version 4.30.147.

Since the release of version 4.30.147, MFM has received many requests from PC Access users to add a CC Outgoing Messages to Myself feature. VISTAinfo agreed to let MFM return the CC Outgoing Messages to Myself feature to future PC Access versions. MFM added a CC Outgoing Messages to Myself checkbox to the E-mail Setup window in PC Access version 4.30.154 and later.

If you are running PC Access versions 4.30.147 and 4.30.151, and you want to use the CC Outgoing Messages to Myself feature, you have the following two options:

  1. Use the Update Wizard to download the Build 158 update. Build 158 includes the CC Outgoing Messages to Myself checkbox in the E-mail Setup window.
  2. If you do not want to update to Build 158, you can manually set up PCAPLUS.EXE to CC Outgoing Message to your e-mail address. See: Enable CC Outgoing Messages to Myself for instructions.

Enable CC Outgoing Messages to Myself

  1. Exit PC Access for Windows.
  2. Click Start | Programs | Accessories | Notepad.
  3. In Notepad, select File | Open.
  4. Next to Look in: select your PC Access executable directory, then select your Agent home directory.
  5. Next to Files of type: select All Files (*.*). Click MAIL.INI and click OK.
    • Note: If you do not have a MAIL.INI file, you need to complete the fields on the E-mail Setup window. See: E-mail Setup window for more information.
  6. In the MAIL.INI file change CC=0 to CC=1 to enable the CC Outgoing Messages to Myself feature. When you do this, PCAPLUS.EXE will CC: you on all messages you send using the E-mail Message window. Here is a sample MAIL.INI file:
        [Setup]
        Sender=johndoe@domain.com
        ReplyTo=johndoe@domain.com
        Name=John Doe
        Setup=1
        HTML=0
        To1=
        Server=mail.server.net
        CC=1

  7. In Notepad, click File | Save. Next click File | Exit.
    • Note:
      • When CC=1 and you enter more than one e-mail address in the E-mail To: field on the E-mail Message window, the recipients of your e-mail message will only see your e-mail address in the To: line in their e-mail program.
      • When CC=1 and you enter one e-mail address in the E-mail To: field on the E-mail Message window, the recipient of your e-mail message will see their e-mail address and your e-mail address in the To: line in their e-mail program.
